General information
CSC - IT Center for Science Ltd. is a non-profit, state-owned company administered by the Ministry of Education and Culture. CSC maintains and develops the state-owned centralised IT infrastructure and uses it to provide nationwide IT services for research, libraries, archives, museums and culture as well as information, education and research management.
CSC has the task of promoting the operational framework of Finnish research, education, culture and administration. As a non-profit, government organisation, it is our duty to foster exemplary transparency, honesty and responsibility. Trust is the foundation of CSC's success. Customers, suppliers, owners and personnel alike must feel certain that we will fulfil our commitments and promises in an ethically sustainable manner.
CSC is a factor in the success of institutions of higher education
Institutions of higher education benefit from the services that are offered by the Ministry of Education and Culture and provided by CSC, and also from the competitive edge they bestow by, for example, attracting successful researchers to Finland.
Institutions of higher education use the services produced or procured by CSC in a broad variety of research and teaching tasks. These services are heavily integrated into institutions' own operations and can be seen as an extension of their own offerings.
CSC proactively develops services and environments so that Finnish institutions of higher education can be among the first in the world to use the latest, competitive technologies and to enjoy an easily accessible IT environment for research.
CSC's IT solutions are highly compatible and promote mobility, thereby enhancing the efficiency of teaching and administrative processes.
Collaboration
CSC actively cooperates with higher education institutions, research institutes and companies. In addition, CSC is a partner in many national and international projects as well as Europe-wide e-infrastructure and grid projects.

Meeting the challenges of internationalisation requires greater involvement in a variety of networks. Networking increases the exchange of experiences, enables the harnessing of synergies, and promotes and bolsters both national and international cooperation.
